Learn the Ancestral Arts Online & In Person

Ash and Bone lives at the crossing of four ancient arts: natural building, herbalism, birth keeping, and earth-based spirituality.

These are the same arts that have held human life in place, in body, in community, and in the sacred, since the very beginning.

• The Arts •

Art of Spirit
We honor the north, the air, as the place of the spirits, the ancestors and their wisdom of earth based spirituality which connects us all to a life tended through ritual, song, ceremony and rites of passage.

Art of Plants

We honor the west, the water, as the place of the plants and their medicine, where herbalism returns us to right relationship with our green kin and the living ecosystems that hold us.

Art of Birth

We honor the east, the fire, as the place of beginnings where full spectrum birth keeping, postpartum and reproductive sovereignty return the next generation to a healthy and sacred start

Art of Home

We honor the south, the earth, as the place of belonging where natural building and permaculture return us to the ancient art of making home from the land itself.

We are made of this wisdom.

When the old ways were burned away, they did not vanish. They became ash. And that ash feed the fertile soil of remembrance. That where everything begins again. The bones remember, even when our mind has forgotten.

And so here we are. The conditions are right.

Songs That Bring Us Home

The ancestral arts are the skills all our ancestors practiced : building, healing, birthing, growing, praying, and singing. Always singing. Song is not secondary here, It is one of the oldest technologies of remembrance our species has ever known. It bypasses the thinking mind and lands somewhere older in us, in our bones. At Ash & Bone, we sing in every retreat, every gathering, every online circle we hold, the songs help wake up what we know in our bones.
